Our Story

Zealous Tutorial Centre is the Namibian registered private school in Rundu where students can upgrade their subjects through full-time or distance mode. It is situated opposite ELCIN Church in Nkarapamwe.The school registration details are: CC 2017/12165; Examinations Centre Number X53.

Zealous Tutorial Centre has also built a new school where students can enroll for quality teaching services in the following Grades of the New Curriculum 10, 11 or 12 Advanced Subsidiary Level.

The new school - Vision Centre is situated in Extension 8; Light Industrial Area in Rundu on the following Erf Numbers; 2661-2674, just behind the Rainbow Village, along the road between Natis and Road Authority.

Teaching & Study Modes:

Teaching Modes at Zealous: Zealous Tutorial Centre, as per the approved internal arrangements and school regulations offers Full-time mode and Distance modes of studies. Full time students are taught on face-to-face basis from Monday to Friday and classes start from 07: 00 to 20: 00.
Full-time mode: students can attend their classes face-to-face Monday to Friday according to their timeslots in line with their time-tables. Each subject has a duration of one hour lesson on a daily routine - Monday to Friday, and each Friday, full-time students sit for test series in their respective subjects. The tests are set and marked by qualified subject teachers and feedback is provided in the following week.

Full-time students are given a lot of work such as homework, assignments, projects and or research and other activities which can help them to explore their subject content under the guidance of their well experienced subject teachers.

Distance Learning Mode: As from 2022 academic year, just upon registration, Zealous Tutorial Centres (ZTC) distance students shall be given the best compiled study materials, assignments and other additional materials sealed together.Distance students are given four quality assignments in a year that can help them to be at the same level with full-time students. Furthermore, they are given holiday classes and weekend classes where they (students) are given opportunities to interact with their tutors and or ask questions.

A time-table and a year plan are given to students so that they can follow the activities of the year in line with the due dates, mock examinations and other general information sharing. Zealous Tutorial Centre has offices in Divundu and Nkurenkuru where students can register and or collect their study materials and submit their assignments. Students in other regions can still enroll with Zealous Tutorial Centre via online registration; http://zealoustutorialcentre.edu.na or can request for a registration form from the school which can be sent via email or Nampost.

Assessment at Zealous Tutorial Centre:

Zealous Tutorial Centre is an assessment based school. The school believes in quality assessments which are in line with the Directorate of National Examinations and Assessment (DNEA), and as per the approved school rules and regulations. Students sit for three to four mock examinations in a year. Question papers are set and marked by national markers (teachers) who are well qualified and who have vast experience in their subject areas. The school has its own unique teaching methodologies which are based on well researched positive outcomes. Teachers are well versed with examinations techniques, and students are exposed to these techniques and ideologies of teaching and assessment.

Report Cards: Zealous Students (full-time and distance) are issued with report cards after each mock examinations, and a remedial teaching is enforced thereafter to help students who are behind with their studies or who are slow in learning to help them be on par with the rest of the students.

Who should enroll? Zealous Tutorial Centre accommodates both Namibian students from different background, and foreign students with valid permit. The age group range is from 15 to 65 years.

Admission Requirements as per the Ministerial Circulars, and as per the Approved School Rules & Regulations:
Grade 10 New Curriculum Normal Extra Classes:
1. Grade 9 passed report card, a testimonial from the previous school may be required.
2. Certified Id copy or birth certificate or valid permit.
3. Registration & tuition fee payments.

Grade 11 New Curriculum:
1. Certified copy of the certificate: Grade 10 or Grade 12 old curriculum OR
2. Certified copy of the certificate: Grade 11 repeat OR
3. valid Grade 10 report card of the new curriculum upon recommendations as per the approved school rules & regulations; with the following documents:

Certified ID copy or birth certificate copy or valid permit.

Registration & tuition fee payments.

Grade 12 AS Level New Curriculum:
1. Certified ID copy or birth certificate copy or valid permit.
2. Certified copy of the Grade 12 AS Level: repeat OR
3. Certified copy of the Grade 11 certificate for the first time takers, and student must meet the requirements as per the Ministerial Circular; examples; three Cs etc.- depending on the Education Ministry’s directives.

Zealous Tutorial Centre’s Management:
Zealous has well trained and professional management members who are friendly and helpful. They are well versed in the core values of the school: honest, transparency and accountability.

Zealous Tutorial Centre has a dedicated management team. The team has a better understanding of the community, and the surrounding in which Zealous Tutorial Centre operates. Furthermore, the team has an open door policy, and members value the parents (the public), the students, the entire community of the school, and the team abides to the Ministerial directives and commercial laws which are applicable to its operations.

This enables Zealous Tutorial Centre to act or to respond decisively to any queries or concerns that the students or any community member brings to the school or that they complain about.

Teaching Department Offices open from 06:00 and close at 20:00 Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays, they operate in line with extra classes arrangements.

Administration Offices open from 08:00 and close at 17:30 Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays, they open from 09:00 to 13:00.

Theme color: blue refers to the Namibia’s territorial waters such as our beautiful Kavango River, and our ocean. Symbolically, it also means that the sky is the limit.

General Information:

A brief explanations on the differences between the Old/Legacy Curriculum and the New/Revised Curriculum as per the Education Ministerial Letter, dated 21 August 2018, with a heading; Changes To The Basic Education Curriculum.

As per the revised curriculum, Junior Secondary Phase ends in Grade 9, where students sit for semi-external examinations in some subjects which are marked at the regional level, and students are issued with report cards only.

Senior Secondary Phase starts in Grade 10. Students do not sit for external examinations at the end of Grade 10. That means in Grade 10, students start to cover Grade 11’s content, and at the end of Grade 11 academic year, they sit for external examinations which are marked at the national level, and they (students) are issued with Senior Secondary Certificates which are equivalent to IGCSE (grade 12 old curriculum), and certificates are pitched at NQA Level 3.

Students with Grade 11 certificates, as per the Circular Form Edu. 9/2021, can apply to institutions of higher learning for a diploma or degree in some courses as per the requirements. Furthermore, students who meet the Advanced Subsidiary Level requirements can still proceed to Grade 12 AS Level, which is pitched at NQA Level 4.

A student with AS Level certificate is still required to attach a certified copy of the Grade 11 certificate together with a certified copy of the Grade 12 AS when applying to institutions of higher learning as per the directives from the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, Circular 9 of 2021.

Zealous Tutorial Centre shall continue to assist Grade 10 and 12 students of the Old Curriculum to be integrated or articulated into the appropriate grades of new curriculum as per the Directives from the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture.

Zealous Tutorial Centre has enough resources and facilities to ensure that all the registered students receive the desired quality education which can enable them to achieve their dreams and goals.

Accommodation, transport and the general well-being of our students:

Zealous Tutorial Centre prioritizes safety and the well-being of the students so as to ensure that they (students) study with a peace of mind, and that they receive quality education as per the vision and mission of the school.

Accommodation: At the moment, Zealous Tutorial Centre does not have a hostel of its own. However, the school can arrange cheaper accommodations for students who may need accommodation in Rundu and they (students) shall be responsible for their own meals, bedding and payment.

Accommodations are limited, therefore students are encouraged to book for accommodations well in advance and the school works on all the logistics in that regard.

Transport to and from the school: Zealous Tutorial Centre can arrange reliable transport for a group of students for affordable prices.

Safety and First Aid at the school: Zealous Tutorial Centre has armed security guards at the school premises, and visitors and or parents in general have to go through the security guards, and the school management first before they have a discussion with their children or before they perform any duties.
Furthermore, the school has First Aid Kit. Students can have access to primary care at the school under the supervision of well-trained management members. To add on, female students who cannot afford sanitary pads are assisted by the school.

Extra mural activities and leadership training: Under normal circumstances, Zealous Tutorial Centre engages students through sport activities, and recreational activities such as debate, quiz competition, cultural activities, and many other social activities that are planned by the school in line with its vision and mission.

Above all, Zealous Tutorial Centre exposes students to leadership skills through Student Representative Council; SRC and other platforms.

The school nurtures students in a way that it promotes responsible citizens who can contribute to the growth of our beautiful country, Namibia and our African continent at large.

1.Old Curriculum: ZTC Grades 10 & 12 students can register for Grade 11 New Curriculum which is equivalent to IGCSE, and it is pitched at NQA Level 3, and they shall be given special opportunity to study Grade 11 New Curriculum (full-time or distance) in 2022 academic year and later on, exit to tertiary institution either through the Grade 11 Ordinary Level or Grade 12 Advanced Subsidiary Level as per Circular Form. Education 9/2021.

2. Zealous Tutorial Centre shall continue to assist Grade 10 & 12 students of the old curriculum to be integrated into the new curriculum, and it shall continue to offer the new curriculum; grades 10, 11 & 12 AS Level in line with the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture.

3. Should the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture extend Grade 12 Old Curriculum into 2022 academic year, ZTC Grade 12 students of 2021 academic year, shall still be given the special opportunity to upgrade their Grade 12 subjects of the Old Curriculum.

4.Zealous Tutorial Centre Private School follows the ministerial circulars, and commercial laws that are applicable to its operation as Part-time tuition Centre and examination Centre which has two modes of studies: Full-time –Grades 10, 11 & 12 AS Level and Distance; Grades 11 & 12.
